Sri Lanka, the former Ceylon, known for its spices, tea, pristine nature and dream beaches, is a highly spiritual island for us. Here we were able to reconnect with the ancient tradition of Ayurveda in connection with nature and our own spirit.

Ayurveda comes from Sanskrit and literally means: KNOWLEDGE OF LIFE – WISDOM OF LIFE. With the help of this holistic philosophy of life, we activated our inner healer, supported by the highly energetic places we visited.
At the Hotel Mount Lavinia, we studied the theory of Ayurveda and experienced wonderful practical treatments in various spas.

We then continued by train to the highlands of Kandy, through the incomparable nature of Sri Lanka’s tea and rice fields. Once we arrived in Kandy, the former royal city, we meditated in the Sri Dalada Maligawa Temple (the holiest temple in Sri Lanka) together with hundreds of devout Buddhists.

Other highlights were the ancient temple city (first capital of Sri Lanka) Polonnaruwa, the fortress of Sigiriya with the cloud girl and the cave temples of Dambulla.
Here we were able to connect with the spiritual energy of the past and experience further energy qualities at these power points.

We traveled to the various places by bus and were given detailed information by our German-speaking guide. The hotels (some built in the old colonial style) in wonderful locations were perfectly chosen to get to know and love the country and its people and the typical local food.
